The
LIFE Center is proud to announce that we are
a recipient of the State of Florida VOCA grant
for Victims of Crime incidents. This is our
second year in offering specific programs to
help survivors who have experienced post traumatic
stress effects due to a criminal act, including
DUI, rape, hit and run accidents, robbery or
personal injury. The LIFE Center is a non-profit,
501(c)3 organization providing support groups
and immediate individual counseling for trauma
victims of crime.
Sheryle
R. Baker, LMHC, Executive Director of the Center
is certified in a therapeutic method called
EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
). This method is designed to help reduce post
traumatic stress symptoms and help to clear
disturbing images, beliefs and blocked emotions
which may obstruct the healing process. Clients
have reported remarkable positive changes in
a relatively few number of sessions, after EMDR
treatment.
The
LIFE Center’s trained professional staff
and volunteers provide specialized state of
the art counseling program services to victims
of crime in a compassionate, kind , attentive
environment.
